 Deer Park, TX The chaos has begun. We move this weekend. I've put My Foot on auto-pilot for the next week or so. Been shooting a lot of late, going through various phases, seeing things in different ways. More than likely just a lot of stuff I've seen recently influencing my thinking and focus. Feels good to work with those urges and see what works for me and what doesn't. So you'll see a lot of these whims over the next 7 - 10 days. Bear with me. (Feedback and criticism are welcome and encouraged.) For me, that's a big part of what this whole photoblog is all about. Not only self-motivation but a tool to satisfy the odd urges that occur when holding a camera. I remember Dr. Paster at SHSU explaining one way to determine the worth of a photo is to put it on the fridge, somewhere you'll see it every day. The longer you leave it on the fridge, the more it's worth. Not cash value mind you, just intrinsic quality. That logic makes a little sense but it doesn't account for bias. I have a photo on my fridge, from one of those 'What Will Your Kids Look Like?' photo booths, that my friend Gary and I did after a few beers. Funny. Ugly. But it's been on my various iceboxes (haven't heard that word in a while...) ever since. I digress. So consider this my fridge if you will. Granted, the photos don't come down per se, but there are those that I go back to frequently. As always, many kind thanks for the recent comments. My apologies for being spotty in replying, it's just a tad hectic with the new baby and moving. Hopefully we'll be settled in after a few weeks, at least enough to get a rhythm going again. - Get some Light Leaks on you. | |
